Not All Guitar Teachers Are Created Equally

I started playing guitar when I was just 6, and I started helping friends learn when I was 8, so I guess I've almost always been a guitar teacher! 36 years later I still love helping people around the world improve their confidence, skills, and knowledge! I've been teaching professionally for over 25 years!

I'm Different

Countless times, often in our first lesson, I've been told horror stories about past guitar teachers who were inflexible and boring, and then I've been told how thrilled my new students are to have found me! I'm friendly, caring, serious but laid back, and I know my stuff and can explain it in simple effective terms!

Diversity

There is so much truly amazing music throughout the world, and I can't get enough of it! I'm comfortable with "most" styles of music: Rock, Blues, Metal, Gypsy Jazz, Flamenco/Latin, Classical, and more...

Creativity Is So Important

I love helping my student discover and foster their own creativity! You don't have to be a veteran musician to start improvising, creating ideas, and songwriting! It's completely different than just playing a song from the page (which is important too, of course).

Jamming Is The Best

I spend lots of time with my students playing along with real music, it's THE most effective way to improve skills and rhythm while keeping the "fun factor" and inspiration at their max.

I also run JAM LESSONS for adults (and sometimes kids too!) where we learn to play together in a safe encouraging environment, which is a whole other skill set and should be experienced by ALL musicians! You have to try them!
